Why We Love Boracay (and You Should Too!)

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi awesome Steemians!

This is my very first post here at Steemit after my #Introduceyourself. Actually, I'm confused what to post for my very first but now I'm decided to share to you guys, my recent activity before 2018. So I hope you'll love it and it will be helpful to all of you, especially for those who love travel and adventure. So, here it is!

I would like to share to you my four days experience in one of the most famous tourist destination in the Philippines. This place is such a nice place that most people prioritize to put it on their bucket list (just like me!).

Welcome to Boracay!

Boracay is located at the mid part of the Philippines, specifically at the province of Aklan.

You would need to ride a boat from the mainland of Aklan for you to be able to reach the sole island of Boracay.

From Caticlan Airport, I recommend you to purchase a land arranged ticket (from the plane, Cebu pacific, yes they offer it) going there - Van transfer from the airport to port area, boat ride, environmental fee and other fees, van transfer again going to your hotel- amounting P550.00 pesos each person. (It really gives allot convenience for you if you purchase it. )

So its easy for us also to locate our hotel.

To mention, it is my first time in Boracay. That's why I really have a huge excitement inside me when I got there! Haha

The sand is very fine and its like a powder that you will enjoy playing on it! No wonder why residents can actually create this kind of sand castles.

We arrived there at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and we haven't took lunch. So we decided to look for one of the most visited food store there, the Jonah's Fruit Shake & Snack Bar.

You can choose from the various menu and fresh fruit shake flavors they have. And I guarantee you, they are affordable and the shakes, you'll definitely go back for more! :)

Within that day we enjoyed watching the scenery of the island, walking on the the shore, waited for the sunset and visited the Famous Willy's Rock.

We also took a bite of the street food there.

Another thing you will enjoy in Boracay is the night life.
Your trip is incomplete if you haven't experienced to chill in the evening with the cold wind coming from the sea. And you have allot of Restobars to choose from.

(Chilin in front of the sea is an awesome experience!)

2ND DAY to 3RD DAY

Our second day to third day in Boracay is full of adventure.

I don't know if you will also love to hang on a parachute but for me, its a must!

(Parasailing)

Look how high that is! My boyfriend actually has fear on heights but you see, he conquered the parasailing for me (too sweet, but he said its just because its my birthday! LOL)

On our way back to the shore, the speedboat operator allow me to hand the steering wheel. I'm so happy to experience it for free! Its like a birthday bonus for me :)

A true bonus was when someone gave us free buffet lunch for their newly opened resort there, The Astoria Current located at Station 3.

The place is good, the food is good, and in return, they offer us a short discussion about their membership for accommodation. But that's fine, I actually bought one :)

On the next day, we did island hopping!

We snorkel, we went to Puka Beach, and the last drop was at Crystal Cove.

The view from the Crystal Cove Island is really amazing!

You'll catch instagramable pictures from there. You may also able to experience to walk through the small cave located at the cove 1.

Here is where the Sea and the Sky combined!

You will love also the environment, with the green green trees like a small forest.

You will surely love the place :)

You think that's all?

We saved our energy for the last part, .... ATV!

My arms are forced to move that heavy handle bar of the vehicle that I'm driving! You should listen carefully to your guide so you'll be able to drive ATV correctly.

And I succeed!

We drive up and down the rocky hill with sharp curves and counter flowing other vehicles. Hard at first but you will find it enjoyable after you manage how the vehicle works.

Then our activities ends there. Although there are other water activities that you can do during your stay in the island. Its just that, we don't have enough time to try it all.

I will recommend to you our guide there, Mon. He became our friend and free guide during our stay there. Definitely will give you discounted rates for your activities :)
Here's his contact number: 09215212763

When we returned to Station 1, we look for souvenirs for our friends and relatives. Good thing, you can avail ref magnets and key chain for low costs. Price ranges to P50 to P150 pesos for ref magnets and P100 for 5-7 pcs of keychain depending on the size.

For Shirts, you can buy at a range of P150 pesos to P500.

For those who love pearls, you can buy there fresh water pearls in earing, bracelets or necklace type in very cheap price also depends on the design.

So, we spend our last night in Boracay by exploring the island souvenirs shops and watching the parties happening.
Fortunately, we're able to witness also the dancing cooks of Hennan Resort.
