Exploring Queensland - A Visit to Hydeaway Bay

Australia is quite incredible for the fact that there are so many untouched pieces of land, especially beaches that run along the coast where you can just sit and relax and watch the beautiful sunsets. I've kind of mentioned this before in a previous posts but I really enjoy looking out to the sea and pondering life at the horizon, this intimate relationship with nature is something that I crave quite often and the peace is unmatched with any big city or concrete environment that I've found myself in.

After my visit to Cedar Creek Falls me and a friend decided to take a drive over to Hydeaway Bay, another popular location near Airlie Beach in Queensland, Australia. The name comes from the fact that it's a little off the beaten path and you can often find yourself here by yourself, so it was also nice to turn up and pretty much have the whole coast line free of anyone but us.

Unfortunately this area was hit by a big cyclone in 2017 and did significant damage to many of the local houses and accommodation in the area. Saying that, after a brisk walk we stopped by and had lunch at a local cafe and it was really nice to sit in the sun and enjoy these beautiful views. I took some pictures and a strong focus of mine were the different rocks and patterns in the sand. I hope you like these and will explore more on the web about this interesting location in Australia.

Very nice indeed! I'll add Queensland and Hydeaway Bay to my 'one day soon' Australia tour ;)

You should definitely try to visit one day in the future. I was lucky that my friend emigrated here so it gave me the opportunity to explore more in Australia, otherwise I would of probably visited other countries instead haha But Australia has some beautiful places.

The sand is super stunning and they are like so pure and whitish pinkish in color. I love the sea. Did you go for a swim?

Swimming is a little bit risky this time of year, probably up until May as there are quite a lot of jellyfish and the ones in Australia can put your in hospital :( But there are some sectioned off places on other beaches which I have gone to. You can also wear a stinger suit to protect you from stings, but I've been stung once, never again! haha

Getting stung by a jellyfish can be quite an experience and traumatic. I had mine got super swollen on my feet (I'm not even sure if it was a jelly fish or not).

That's sad though the beach was so pretty and it must have been nice to take a dip. So far that hasn't been the main problems on the beaches that I've visited.

Jealous! I've never been to Australia, but it's on the list.

Yeah, you should visit one day. It's a beautiful country :)
