Travel to Trakai castle

in travel •  6 years ago  (edited)

Yesterday was a nice travel day for me. With my friend and colleague organist @pauliakaz and his guest and our common friend organist from Poland Krzysztof Urbaniak we went to see the medieval cast in Trakai.

Krzysztof played a magnificent recital on Sunday at Vilnius Cathedral which I had to miss due to my own performance in Kedainiai so it was nice to meet him the next day.

I parked my car next to @pauliakaz apartment and we walked together to the old town of Vilnius, to the hotel where Krzysztof was staying. We then had some coffee and chatted for a while. It turned out a rather long chat because @pauliakaz' car was parked inside of the hotel courtyard the day before and now there were many cars surrounding it so we couldn't get out. But eventually the time came for us to finally go to Trakai.

Trakai is a medieval town, best know for it's castle, church and Karaim pastries called Kibinai. So we went to experience all of them.

After the trip @pauliakaz dropped me off by his apartment where I said goodbye to Krzysztof and went to my church for Unda Maris organ studio rehearsal. Our students will be playing a concert this Saturday so there was some work to be done with them.

So anyway, I hope you'll enjoy the photos from our trip.

The photos are impressive, so much old times around. Amazingly how rich is Latvia with such beautiful castles

Thanks! This is Lithuania. Latvia is our brothers in the north.

Beautiful souvenirs of your trip. It is interesting for me to see the old and new architecture :)
