MI VIAJE A LA GRAN SABANA - VENEZUELA/MY TRIP TO LA GRAN SABANA - VENEZUELA

La Gran Sabana es una región localizada al sureste de Venezuela y se extiende hasta la frontera con Brasil y Guyana. La temperatura promedio es de alrededor de 20 °C pero de noche puede ser de hasta 13 °C o menos dependiendo de altura de los sitios que se visite. Tiene paisajes únicos en todo el mundo, vistas inigualables y carreteras que todo amante del todo terreno desearía transitar; cuanta con cascadas, oasis, ríos, quebradas, selvas impenetrables, sabanas que tienen gran variedad de especies vegetales y mesetas, mejor conocidas como tepuyes; los tepuyes son mesetas con paredes verticales y cimas muy planas, el tepuy más alto que se puede encontrar es el Roraima con una altura de 2018 metros sobre el nivel del mar (la película animada UP tomó como inspiración este tepuy, siendo este la superficie en donde aterrizó la casa).

En La Gran Sabana se encuentra el salto de agua más alto del mundo que lleva por nombre Salto Angel, con una altura de 979 metros (807 metros de caída ininterrumpida), se declaró patrimonio de la humanidad en 1994. Este salto forma parte de las 7 maravillas naturales del mundo.

In the Gran Sabana is the highest waterfall in the world that goes by name Salto Angel, with a height of 979 meters (807 meters of uninterrupted fall), was declared a World Heritage Site in 1994. This jump is part of the 7 natural wonders of the world.

Mi viaje a La Gran Sabana fue en enero de 2016 junto con mi familia, yo vivo en el estado Anzoátegui, y son aproximadamente 18 horas y 900 km para llegar, dependiendo también del tráfico, clima, estado de la carretera y velocidad. Para viajar se necesita llevar todo: hielo, carpas, linternas, planta eléctrica, cocina, carbón, repelente, artículos de primera necesidad, colchones, herramientas, comida para el tiempo que vayas a durar y sobretodo y muy importante: la gasolina, nosotros llevamos 5 galones de gasolina por carro, teniendo en cuenta que duramos una semana y nuestros vehículos eran 4x4.

Desde el primer momento que llegue, me sentí genial, las personas cambian totalmente, te vuelves más humano, más amable, más servicial. Solo eres tú con la naturaleza y las personas que te rodean, no hay señal, no hay teléfonos, no hay radio, en algunos lugares no hay electricidad. Cuando cae a noche el cielo se llena de estrellas y la luz natural de la luna ilumina todo el paisaje, el frió y los sonidos de la naturaleza son muy relajantes. La energía que transmite estar ahí es indescriptible, la vista es espectacular en cualquier que mires. La gran mayoría de las personas nativas de ahí ni siquiera hablan español, viven de las artesanías que le venden a los turistas y sus construcciones que luego les alquilan, el servicio médico y la educación es prácticamente nula, muchos no tienen ropa, ni zapatos para caminar en los caminos de tierra y piedra; y aun así es impactante ver como esas personas ríen, disfrutan y son felices sin tener lo que para uno es básico como teléfono, televisión, internet, etc.

Es un viaje que recomiendo al 1000%, yo deseo volver cuanto antes y si vuelvo les contare más. From the first moment I arrived, I felt small, people change completely, you become more human, more friendly, more helpful. Only you are with nature and the people around you, there is no signal, there are no telephones, there is no radio, in some places there is no electricity. When it falls to night the sky is filled with stars and the natural light of the moon illuminates the whole landscape, the cold and the sounds of nature are very relaxing. The energy that transmits being there is indescribable, the view is spectacular in any way you look. The vast majority of the native people there do not even speak Spanish, they live on the handicrafts they sell to tourists and their buildings, which they then rent, the medical service and education is practically nil, many do not have clothes or shoes to walk on dirt and stone roads; And yet it is shocking to see how those people laugh, enjoy and are happy without having what is basic for one such as telephone, television, internet, etc.

It is a trip that I recommend to 1000%, I want to return as soon as possible and if I return I will tell you more.
