OMFG (I mean that & I'm not even from California)

Did you ever imagine as a kid that the Future was going to be amazing (in your own lifetime) and have been a bit disappointed ever since that we never got Jetpacks, Single Seater, Anti-Gravity Spaceships for getting to the office , HAL & a million other things promised to our greedy techno minds by a host of science fiction films (& carrtoons). Thanks alot, Mr Lucas, Cameron, Mr Scott and The Jetsons !

WELL NOW YOU HAVE IT !

I watched this short film and all of a sudden I was like, Wow, this is like STAR WARS technology but in a peaceful and bountious future (California again) and I feel much more optimistic about that floating condo in the sky. You know, the one with the trailing gardens, hoverport and excellent all round views. Just like in Oblivion. I mean The Jetsons.

This is a really well made mini-doc with plenty of footage of the board in action on calm and choppy seas with Nick's nephew even learning to ride it. It looks very peaceful and exhilarating and I'm wondering if I'll be able to take my daughters on a foil board adventure in a few years time. I think they would just love it. It's mixed in with interviews with Nick and the project's team members including theTest Pilot who looks about twelve years old.

The impressive bit for me is when Nick talks about balancing battery life with speed.. Top speed of 25mph for about an hour. I'd say that's quite enough fun for one day thanks and easily compares with the coarse & bumpy ride of a jetski / waterbike. It doesn't even compare. It might not be quite as fast but this machine can slice through choppy water just like it's hydrofoil boat bigger cousins making a jetski look like a bone-shaking jalopy. I only have one reservation.

Please whatever you do, don't hit a coral reef or you will be plunged head first into the human equivalent of a cheese grater and I've seen some surfing injuries.. not pretty! On the other hand travelling with Dolphins will never be the same again ;)
