So far, so good! We're in Texas!
We are on the way to visit some of the relatives of @Mama-pepper down in south Texas, and are spending the night with some new friends like @canta that we made a few weeks ago. In the morning, I'll be meeting up with @humanearl, a longtime steemit-friend of mine. It'll be amazing to finally meet up with this man, and I'm super excited!
AHHH.... TEXAS!
Back in the big, old state of Texas. Monster Truck was happy to see the palm trees again, as were the rest of us. @Mama-Pepper was born down here in the state, and we've been coming here on an almost yearly basis ever since we got together more than a decade ago.
We hung out longer than expected in Dallas, due to an accident and traffic jam. I've rather be on a dirt road stuck behind a tractor, but it's nice to remember why we moved where we moved moved. The lights are nice in the photo sure look nice, and the @little-peppers enjoying seeing things like this too. Thankfully, the traffic cleared and we were able to leave town and keep heading south.
Eventually, we stopped at a TACO CASA, which we had never checked out before, but we certainly don't have them back where we come from. For years, whenever @mama-pepper would come to Texas to visit relatives with her family, they would stop at a Whataburger, but there wasn't one available nearby.
As far as tacos go, TACO CASA was a good choice and we enjoyed it. I'd definitely stop there again. The tacos we even better than "Taco Bell," LOL. It took less to fill us up anyway, which my wallet enjoyed.
Other staple treats when we head south include getting a Coke in a glass bottle, and some sort of Tamarind candy. You can also find these at Mexican Grocery Stores back by us, but they are certainly more readily available here in Texas. I've got some other plans while we are in the area, and a Gulf trip and a Mexico trip planned too, but we will see what all we get into. I just wanted to let you all know that it was so far, so good!

Nothing like a good-old dirt road. A little bit of dust when a car passes by, but I would rather be inhaling a little dust rather than the constant fumes that come from the cars when sitting in traffic. Haven't had a coke in a bottle in years, vinyl, vinyl, vinyl. When do you think we will wake up. Have a great vacation and stay safe. You have a beautiful family. Your one kid up on me. I have got 3 boys and a girl. All grown up now, and that gives me 4 kids 6 grandchildren. Having 5 kids yourself, I am sure grandchildren will be in the cards. I also moved out of a very congested area and moved to the country. Live on the corner of nowhere, where four or five cars pass a day.

Ah, Texas! My old stomping grounds! Spent many years in the Austin/Round Rock area, as well as some time in Dallas. And Mexican Coke... made with real sugar, not syrup... cool memories!
