Take a one day trip with me and get your adrenaline pumping with sightseeing as diverse as the city itself.

As the largest city in South Africa Johannesburg is not only known as the wealthiest, the economic powerhouse of Africa, but it is also known as the city characterised by its irreconcilable differences. So often the target of the media for endless reporting on strikes, crime and xenophobia life.

Johannesburg, a city with a heart of gold with, a multi-cultural cosmopolitan vibe and smiles that grows on you.

The City reminds me so much of New York and hopefully with renewal and cultural regeneration programme it can become THE City in Africa.

You are for sure to fall in love with Joburg!

The Nelson Mandela Bridge at the heart of downtown Johannesburg has already gained iconic status

The gold rush of 1886 that led to the establishment of Johannesburg which is still clearly seen not only on the outskirts of the city but also in the centre of town

The history of Johannesburg is clearly seen in the architecture from as far as 1886. Although Johannesburg is 120 years old it is still a relevant young city.

It is also a place where the old meets the young

The Carlton Centre, also the tallest building in Africa with 50 storeys

11 Diagonal Street is designed to look like a diamond which reflects the different views of the Central Business District

The next few photos shows the vibrant and culture of the city, from the street vendors, the buildings to the hustle and buzzle of the streets

Art plays a vital role of this city with numerous art pieces on the pavements, gravity on the walls and various art museums. The Wits Art Museum host over 9,000 artworks.

When planning on visiting Johannesburg make sure you gather plenty information about this city to ensure that your visit as enjoyable as possible.

Thank you for sharing! I have always wanted to go to South Africa, especially Joburg and Cape Town.

Pleasure! Both cities are absolutely fantastic. There is so much more to South Africa which I will be sharing over the next few weeks. I do hope we will see you soon

I love the elephant mural, beautiful!

I agree. A pity that I could not get the whole wall in. The art work in the streets are awesome. Joburg is indeed a festive place
