NYC Skyline as seen from Long Island City

in travel •  5 years ago

Hey everyone, I hope you had a great Easter (if you celebrated, if not, then a great weekend). The weather in NYC was beautiful on Sunday, so I decided to put some air in my bicycle tires, and take my first ride of 2018. I rode into neighboring Long Island City (LIC), Queens. Here are some views from the promenade...

The famous and land-marked "Pepsi-Cola" sign. You can see this sign from Manhattan if you are driving on the FDR, or if you are on the east side of Manhattan. You can see in the background all of the new construction that has been built. Hi-Rise condos are being built all over LIC.

In this shot you can the Chrysler Building on the right and the Empire State Building (center, left). At night, the Empire State Building really lights up. They installed LED lights a few years ago that are color changing, so the colors apply to various events. For Easter, the Empire State Building shifting from Green to Purple lights...the colors of Easter.

Well that is all for now. I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by.
