Forgotten Travel Diaries - The Island Kilios in the Bosphorus Strait / Istanbul

This is what happens when you go to the Ferry Port in Istanbul, near Besiktas and embark on one of the 'Princess Island' Ferries.

They take a round trip from the port to the island chain and stop once at very one of 7 or 8 islands. Since they go a couple of times per day you can always hop on or off depending on how much time you spend on any given island and when you're done for the day you just stay on the boat and it takes you straight back to the city.

Kilios is one of the bigger ones and free of cars. There's lots of horses and more importantly mountains. When you walk/climb up one of the higher ones you're rewarded with an epic view of the great city of Istanbul or dare I call it Constantinople :).

Back then I took a sort of 360 degree view shooting. You could actually piece together shots 78, 79 and 80 which I've done at some point but since lost the image.

That's a beautiful place indeed! I've been at princess island a few years ago and it it really an amazing spot and the perfect place to have a break of Istanbul's busy city!
