Poland - My beautiful country - part II (Sudety)

in travel •  8 years ago

The Sudetes are beautifully landscaped mountains, even dreamed for long hikes not only countless ridges but also along winding valleys and mysteriously misted peat bogs. Beautifully situated towns boast long and rich history, stylish spas, elegant palaces and majestic ruins of the fortress. The area also invites underground - former mines, post-German bunkers, tunnels and dungeons, where long forgotten treasures can still be found. See what places can not be missed while relaxing in the Sudety.

Śnieżka is the highest point of the Krkonoše and the whole of the Sudetes, at an altitude of 1602 m, which is at the same time the highest point of the Czech Republic on the border with Poland. The apex is uninhabited, covered with a boulder, from the Polish side the trail leads to a wide stone road on it. Historical records confirm that Snieżka has been a popular tourist for over 500 years!

Misty Rocks is a picturesque rocky town located in the area of the Table Mountain National Park and covers the northwestern part of Stoliwa Skalnik. They are entirely covered by the strict protection of the Karkonosze National Park. Made of sandstone on the western edge of the Rocky Mountains, attract thousands of tourists every year. Rock City can be visited on one way, on wooden footbridges.

The prince, proudly towering over the countryside, is a well-preserved 13th-century fortress with rich equipment. It is worth recommending to lovers of art and architecture, but also horse rides. In the castle estate there is a stallion stallion Książ. There are also attractions for amateurs of flowers - every year in May a large floristic exhibition takes place at the castle.

Złoty Stok is located 15 km north of Ladek-Zdroj, at the foot of the picturesque Golden Mountains. The biggest attraction is the visit to the oldest Polish gold mine. In addition to strolling along the Walk of Death and meeting with Gnom we will learn how sifted gold sand, smelting valuable bars and getting gold ... arsenic.

The 13th-century wooden stave church of Vang in southern Norway is one of the biggest attractions not only of the Sudetes but also of Poland. Purchased in the 1940s by Wilhelm IV as an exhibit for the Berlin museum, however, it was sent to Karpacz, where until today it serves as an evangelical church. The original look and the belief that it is a temple of happy marriages are the reason for organizing numerous ceremonies here. Two candelabras, representing swans and hearts, are only used during weddings.
