Dear Steemians,
This is the last part of my own American dream. As you know, in March of this year we had transferrd a brand new mobile home from Middleburry, Illinois to San Francisco. We have, as far as possible, used the legendary Will Rogers Highway, better known under the name Route 66.
However, we had decided in advance to return the vehicle in San Francisco and not in Los Angeles (both were optional). So we left the Route 66 at Victorville and then went directly to the Pacific coast and drove along to San Francisco.
This last part now covers the visit to San Francisco, which unfortunately took place on a gray, rainy day. I hope the pictures and impressions that I have collected will please you anyway.

Dies ist der letzte Teil meines ganz privaten Amerikanischen Traums. Wie ihr wisst, hatten wir im März dieses Jahres ein brandneues Wohnmobil von Middleburry, Illinois, nach San Francisco gebracht. Wir haben dabei, soweit das möglich war, den legendären Will Rogers Highway, besser bekannt unter dem Namen Route 66 befahren.
Allerdings hatten wir im Vorfeld beschlossen, das Fahrzeug in San Francisco abzugeben und nicht in Los Angeles (beides war wahlweise möglich). Daher verliessen wir die Route 66 bei Victorville um dann anschließend direkt an die Pazifikküste zu gelangen und an dieser entlang bis San Francisco zu fahren.
Dieser letzte Teil behandelt nun den Besuch von San Francisco, welcher leider an einem grauen, verregneten Tag stattfand. Ich hoffe, die Bilder und Eindrücke, die ich gesammelt habe, gefallen euch trotzdem.

Ja, die Robben sind so toll! Ich hätte denen stundenlang zusehen können, wie die sich um jeden Millimeter der schwimmenden Plattformen stritten und sich dabei gegenseitig ins Wasser geschubst haben. Dabei sind noch so viele Plattformen leer. Ganz links lag eine ganz alleine auf einer Insel und schlief; das könnte ich sein, wäre ich eine Robbe. :)

This was such an amazing trip on Route#66! You have made one of the best hosts, not missing one of the high points along the way. Your pictures were all superb,I didn't even notice that there was a gloomy day on any.
Isn't San Francisco such a cool town? I love it, I do! The trolley, the busses, the vibe of the quirky city. You have captured it so well, it was like I was there.

Das freut mich sehr, Achim! Ich habe gesehen, dass Du sie upvotest, das ist sehr nett von Dir, aber spar Dir lieber Deine Votingpower. Nee, das kann man ja auch nicht wissen. Das ging mir genauso, bis ich meine VP einmal fast auf Null runtergefahren hatte und das dauert dann eine Woche (ohne Voten) um sie wieder auf 100% aufzubauen.
