Yosemite Falls: California's Tallest Waterfall

in travel •  7 years ago

After years of drought, this winter finally brought California some much needed relief.

Yosemite Falls, snow-fed by a cold mountain creek high above the valley floor, has grown from a mere trickle to a stunning torrent.

Last month, I got lucky and picked up a last-minute campsite cancellation. With my limited time, I knew that I had to make the arduous, all-day hike up switchback after switchback to see the Falls myself.

Here are some pictures to save you the trouble!

P.S. I also shot a lot of 360 photos and video while I was at Yosemite, which I'm still working on sorting and processing. That topic deserves a whole different post. I have a spatial microphone now, and hope to do a return trip to Yosemite soon -- you can't ask for a better topic.

You have a good shot there!!

I hope many people will start posting their most creative photos, and making them available to others with creative commons..
For me, it's more fun to share, than try to make money with my photos.

I plan to post mine with links to the originals with full resolution, so the image details can be appreciated, since my new camera is 20mp, they are really amazing to see.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback! I should put them up on a proper site. And also use a proper camera, although I was pretty pleased with the S8 as far as phone cameras go. I'll consider creative commons -- these are pretty well-traveled areas so its unlikely the shots are unique enough that anyone would want to license them. I love remix but don't necessarily just want someone ripping these to put on their own blog wholesale. Have to research an appropriate license. Or just let it go :)

I just started a blog documenting Cali also. Check it out if you get a chance.
