Today I would like to share my experience at Farm Tomita, one of two beautiful flower farms I visited while travelling in Hokkaido.
Farm Tomita is the most famous flower farm in Hokkaido, known especially for its lavender fields. The lavender is used as fragrance for their products such as perfumes, candles and soap. They have been growing lavender in this very same place since 1958.
If you visit Farm Tomita during summer, you will get to gaze at the sea of lavender it's famous for. I didn't get to see the fields during lavender season, but the other flowers they grow are equally as beautiful. The flowers in display during Autumn had more variety and were multi-colored as you can see in the pictures below.
Farm Tomita also has some gift shops on site where you can buy their lavender fragrance products and a few cafes selling food and lavender flavored soft serve ice cream. The lavender ice cream tasted really good, mostly due to Hokkaido milk being used.
If you ever get the chance to visit Hokkaido, this place is not to be missed. It's a one of a kind experience and very relaxing to walk around the farm and enjoy the blooming flowers.
