Chateaus of the Loire ValleysteemCreated with Sketch.

This may or may not be my last French holiday post... I can't promise anything! I really just wanted to show off my photos, taken on my Huawei Mate 10. It takes some brilliant photos.

We stayed in the Loire Valley for a week, and saw 9 Chateaus. It was great fun! Each castle had a different theme or attraction, and they all tried to do something special for the kids.

This was our local castle - the Amboise Royal Palace. It was where Francois 1st spent most of his time. It was a beautiful castle with a view of almost the entire Loire Valley from the top. It's also now the final resting place of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Chateau Azay Le Rideau was one of my favourites. It was built on an island so is surrounded by water.

Chateau Villandry had magnificent gardens.

Chateau Chambord is the biggest of the region, and show cases Leonardo Da Vinci's stairs where two people can walk up the stairs and not run into each other. Apparently it was designed so Francois'wife and mistress would never meet.

Chateau Cheverny has hundreds of working hunting dogs. Feeding the dogs is quite the attraction in itself.

They also had fables made up as lego pieces throughout the castle, and some free-play lego at the end. This was a winner with the kids.

Chateau Chenonceux is built over a river! It was gorgeous as well with a magnificent gallery room stretching out across the river.

Chateau Usse was just beautiful, and the castle that sleeping beauty was based upon. Inside they had a display in many of the rooms on sleeping beauty, designed for the children.

Chateau Rivau had kid friendly gardens and playgrounds.

All in all it was brilliant. I thought I may have been "castled out" but the fact that there were so many varied things to see like the gardens and kids attractions made them all interesting in some aspect.

Lovely. It reminds me of when I was an exchange student in the 90s. I was close-ish (Le Mans) to the Loire Valley.

Also, you should pin this to stemit worldmap so we can curate it for you. I think you've used it in the past? Let me know if not and you need help.
