Today is kind of gloomy day I mean from the morning it's been raining here. So, no chance to go out I mean I don't want to go out. I have a few pending works but I guess I can complete those when the weather will be okay.
I was thinking to change my style of writing this #travelathome challenge post because I don't like monotony work. So today I am going to write a little bit about rock-formation which I have seen in Phuket Thailand.
This is my Day-18 and I am continuing this challenge. The more I dig, the more I can enter deeply into my travel memories.
Now it's time for today's travel digest...
Lime-Stone Cliffs, Phang Nga Bay, Thailand
Phang Nga Bay is popular because of several limestones cliffs, rock formations, and islands, I guess I have mentioned that before on my several posts. Also, there is a small Mangrove forest as well though it's not huge as I expected compared to Sundarbans. In fact, the famous James Bond Island located here and it's is one of the most spectacular limestone cliffs I have explored so far.
I have seen different mountains but these limestone cliffs I have seen only in Phuket.
This is one of my most popular Instagram pictures, I mean the most viewed picture so far. Well, as long as remember, we took a long tail boat to reach our destination called James Bond Island. Basically, if you want to go to the James Bond island, you have to take this long tail boat. On my way to the Island, I have experienced a stunning landscape. Karst landscape which is also known as Karst formation of Phang Nga Bay is a beautiful picturesque landscape to explore.
If you want to explore these rock-formations closely, you have to take Banana Boat. I really enjoyed Banana Boat riding and can't forget those days...
I have seen astounding giant limestone rock formation and honestly speaking there are huge. But when I was exploring, I was shocked, kinda speechless seeing how beautiful rock-formation can be...
Phang Nga Bay has at least 40 uniquely-shaped limestone island cliffs that are insane. The cliffs are a spectacle of colored streaks brought by the mineral oxides from various sources during the day. They glisten against the sunlight, making the cliffs a sight to behold...
These limestone cliffs consist of several caves and formed around 10,000 years ago. History said they are formated around 200,000,000 years ago when all continents were connected to each other. These are basically Karst Limestone Cliffs...
Karst is limestone that features internal drainage. Most areas that have karst formations also have heavy rainfall and a thick bed of limestone with a lot of underground flowing water.
This is it for today.. See you around...
