A Visit to 'Sangam'

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

A visit to Sangam, where there is a confluence of the holy rivers of India, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Although Saraswati does not appear, people believe that it flows under the channels of the Ganga and Yamuna through invisible form, hence the confluence site here is called Triveni Sangam.

There is a perception about the religious significance of the Triveni Sangam that when the nectar of the nectar was received at the time of the churning, the gods were engaged in an effort to save this nectar pot from the horoscope. In this same technique, some drops of nectar fell on the ground and wherever wherever these droplets lie, there is a fair of Kumbh Mela.

These places were Ujjain, Haridwar, Nasik and Prayag. At this place, the elixir of the nectar sprang from the urn, so people believe that after bathing in the confluence, all sins are washed away and heaven is attained. People from far away come here for this holy pilgrimage and immerse themselves in sacred waters and worship them.
