Hidden gem in Asia - Pulo Cinta

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Though it might be painful to draft this memories out right now but this place is really too nice that it’s too bad not to be shared with everyone!

It was not easy to go to this place as it actually took me a 16 hours journey to reach this beautiful place at Northern Sulawasi area.
Travelled from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta via International flight follow by local flight to Gorontalo (4 hours with transit at Makassar), 2 hours drive from Gorontalo airport to jetty and finally 20mins speedboat ride to Pulo Cinta Eco Resort.

Advice of travelling:-

  1. Arrange additional 3-4 hours gap between International & Local flight as we have missed our local flight due to a 3 hours delay by Air Asia.
  2. If you wish to cut short on travelling time, there is a direct flight to Gorontalo from Jakarta but it starts at 2am. Similarly, there is only 1 direct flight from Gorontalo to Jakarta which starts at 6am.

At Pulo Cinta, basically there is nothing much to do except just to chill and enjoy the place! I’ll suggest you to follow their island hopping (though its just 2 spots) but it was amazing! They brought us over to Pulo Botak & Pulo Jamal (a crystal clear sand beach).

As this was an eco resort at an isolated place – do not have high expectation on the resort. There is water cut off almost everyday from 8PM till next morning as they need to transport clean water from the nearest village every day! Also food is very local – do not expect international cuisine here. There is only a TV provided at room as they don’t encourage you to use much electricity too.

Would I recommend this place? Definately a YES if you're up for the long travel time. You can literally jump into the sea from your villa for snorkel anytime! It is a THUMB UP for the resort for still preserving the beauty of this place!

Some shot taken using a drone...I will try to re-upload HD picture later on as these are low res picture in my phone 😂

One of the nearby village which we visited during our island hopping. We managed to brought some lobsters as dinner from the villagers
