Hinulugang Taktak is one of the famous landmarks of Antipolo Rizal. It is located at Taktak Road, Brgy. Delapaz Antipolo. The falls is also known for it's contribution to Antipolo's rich culture and history.
The name of the falls was derived from the incident where in a priest was forced to drop a church bell in the plunge pool of water basin of the water falls because of the unbearable sound that it creates whenever the church try to use it.
Before, Hinulugang Taktak is one of the nearest destination of travelers living in Manila. When it was clean before, people can swim and bathe in the clear waters coming in the falls. But unfornately nowadays no one is allowed to bathe in it due to polluted water.
Too bad i've never seen it during its glory days because as urbanization spread, houses and establishments gradually inched closer towards the waterfall and the waterways that feeds it, dumping sewage and garbage in the process.
( Happy to see healthy trees 😆😁 )
But there's hope, because the local government has a massive rahabilitation plan. They started it, on planting lots of trees in the surrounding of the park.
The park is situated with trees and flowering plants and bushes.
To see the waterfalls you need to go down in the concrete stairs. There's alot of open space, lots of shade courtesy of trees. Scattered across the park are picnic tables and cottages for rent. Cottages around the park are readily available for guests who want to rest and have picnic.
HOW TO GET THERE
For communters, you can ride in UV or Jeepney at Cubao Farmers or Edsa Crossing/ Starmall going to Antipolo Simbahan. Once there, tell to Manong tricycle driver to drop you off at Hinulugang Taktak.
To those who has a car, just use google map or Waze.

The government is constantly monitoring the water's pollution levels as one of their ways of rehabilitation.
For all these efforts to rehabilitate Hinulugang Taktak, the battle is far from won. But atleast Government of Antipolo is doing something to save the waterfalls. There's a lot of work to be done specially to those people who is polluting the water.
So please fellow Antipolinians do your share by not throwing garbage everywhere especially in creeks.
Hope you like my post today.
Happy weekend Steemian! 😘
Its unfortunate how we pollute and destroy the very nature that feeds and brings us pleasure. Glad the government has a plan for that one!
