That's a very lovely place and I'm lucky to see it in details thanks to you @raj808! I saw a photo or two that inspires me to draw :) The second set of photo and the kitchen are my favorites! The food looks great as well, but if it's spicy, it's not for me though :) Well done!

Also wanted to let you know that the post about my collaboration with @futuremind is out, if you're interested :) Yearning Wit - Photography & Poetry

What haunted stories did you hear?

And oh, can I ask how you joined Sndbox? Thank you!! 😊

Hi @joeylim

The most famous ghost story is the one that is featured in the picture that says 'York ghost follows US tourist home'. Basically, to summarize:

A yank tourist came out of the golden fleece pub one chilly winter eve after imbibing one to many alcoholic drinks ;-) when they saw a person dressed in a long overcoat standing forlornly on the street outside. They asked them directions because they were drunk and couldn't remember the way home. The ghost man looked at them surprised and told them which way to go. Afterwards they kept seeing the man at different places along their journey home that night. When they described it to the owners of the golden fleece the next day, they told them that it was a ghost that is regularly seen but hadn't ever spoken before that day! Spooky ehhh?

Check out this announcement post for @sndbox they are changing their model to no longer have cohorts that you join (I put in months of work to win a place in this last cohort and was lucky enough to be chosen as one of 15 out of 50 applicants) but are moving to a more open model.

@raj808 ahhhh so scary!! I'm not sure how the owners of The Golden Fleece deal with it on a daily/regular basis XD

Ohh thanks for the link, will check it out! (:

Cracking post. I need to visit York as I live not too far and was actually born there πŸ’―πŸ’

Thank you @c-squared

Beastly. So clean.

This house reminds me of traditional houses in Switzerland. They are also painted white and have wooden details. For me it's definitely not a tourist trap :) I love such places. They are full of history and interesting facts.

Thank you for sharing!

Yeah I agree, I was being a little 'tongue in cheek' I loved it in Barley Hall. The architectural style, the atmosphere, the whole experience was inspiring :-) Thanks for checking out my post

Thanks @travelfeed much appreciated. I am uber busy atm packing for steemfest and trying to organise other things as well but I shall pop in discord channel when I get back and touch base. Thanks again for the curation, massively appreciated :-)

See you at Steemfest! We're aiming to have a meet-up early Friday evening.

Im so glad you enjoyed York. Im from Yorkshire, originally 2 miles from Nostell Priory. Not enough visitors coming to the UK head North. There is so much to see in York and also in the rest of North Yorkshire. Thanks for the glowing reports :-)

Hi @nathen007 Yeah I loved York. I'm from Liverpool btw's, I was over York cat-sitting and had a blast wandering the city and being inspired for various writing projects. Plus the Korean food was an eye opener... and a tongue scorcher πŸ˜…

Aaah, gorgeous post ! I really enjoyed this :) Felt like I was walking around with you :D

Β  Β· Β 6 years agoΒ

Thanks @veryspider I'm glad you enjoyed the walking tour.

I purposely wrote this article in a more casual style than the others I wrote about York to see how it would go down. A little less history and a bit more narrative. It seems to have gone down well.

Thanks for your comment and support :-)
