Hello, this is @ramengirl. What did you do in new years?

I went to the place called 'Gat-Ba-Wi(means Stone Hat Buddha)' with my family on new years for making a wish!

It took about an hour and a half Busan to Daegu by car. Before the hiking, we filled up our stomach with fish cake and tofu.

We hiked for forty minutes and finally got to the Gatbawi. It was too hard for me to climbing because I haven't hiked for a long time and I had a little bit of hangover from last night 😢

Wikipedia: Gatbawi is a Buddhist statue in the Republic of Korea. It was made in the Unified Silla Kingdom era and is well known with the name of Gatbawi Buddha(Stone Hat Buddha). It sits 4 meters (13 ft) tall, and the hat is a 15-centimetre (6 in) thick flat stone on his head.

New years is the busiest day of the year for Gatbawi, and of course, there were so many people!! I was wondering what are they wish for. I hope everything will come true!

This is a lucky bag that I bought form the Gatbawi :)

The Gatbawi(Stone Hat Buddha) has a reputation for making people's one wish come true. I was thinking about what should I wish for, and I just said 'I want Steem price to go up!' The next day Steem went up a lot!!!!! Is he made my wish came true already?! Then, I want all of my Steemian friends to make a wish to me Stone Hat Buddha picture, so your wish can come true ;)

Cheers, 2018!

Here you go! I found this from google image!

you are too kind :)

the food in your posts makes me so hungry!

What was mushroom wine like?
:O

It tasted like just wine lol
Actually, I couldn't feel any mushrooms taste!

That is good to know, i was thinking the mustyness from the mushrooms would be weird in wine but if there is none of that it sound like something i will have to try one day.

Love your posts and the food makes me so hungry. my kimchi, span and egg ramyuns dont even come close to the food in the picts you show.

Aww! Such a cool way to spend New Years with your family, is this a tradition in Korea?? Love that you guys hiked up together to celebrate

Yes! Kinda...! Haha
Actually, the real tradition is watching the sunrise near the beach or on the mountain but we were too lazy to do that!! lol But a lot of people came to this temple and made their wish!

Cool activity to do with your family, walking up to a Buddha statue and just appreciate one another and life in its totality, really like that!

Have to give you extra thumbs up for the picture where the statue was nothing more than a silhouette in contrast to the sun, beautiful picture.

Overall good post🙌🏼

Otherwise, if you're into travelling, vlogs, self-development etc feel free to check out my channel, in any case keep up the good work and I'll see you around! 😄

Awww thanks! I like that picture too! Haha
Cheers!

I have hike here a couple times!
Did you take the stairs, or did you hike the mountain up the back?
I was planning on make a post about hiking here in the future, after it snows!

I just took the stairs! It only took 40mins, but t was so brutal because of my hungover! lol
I wanna see your post about this place someday!!!

Thank you so much for sharing. I wish i could go to this place as well.

Happy New Year! Hope its a good one for you and all your friends, family and loved ones :)
