Camping is a fun experience no matter what age you are. There is no reason why you can't get out there and make new memories if you know how to do it the right way. Continue reading to learn more.

When camping, get your shelter squared away before nightfall. Once it gets dark, it is much harder to find wood for your fire, prepare food, and get your tent ready. This is particularly true for those city-dwellers that are not used to pitch-black darkness. Do not get yourself into this situation, and find your shelter during daylight hours.

Review the medical coverage that you have. When you travel to camp, you may need to have this updated or add an additional policy. If you are going to a foreign country, this is especially critical. Be sure that you prepare yourself in case anything happens!

Emergency kits are a good thing to have prepared for any camping trip. You want to bring a kit for any situation that might arise during your camping trip. Species specific antivenom should be packed to protect against animal bites.

Bring oranges with you since they are great for snacking and repelling insects. After you've eaten the flesh of the fruit, save all the peels. When you need bug repellant, rub the peels on your skin to repel mosquitos naturally and on the cheap!

Set your campsite, tent and sleeping bags up before it gets dark. If you have an RV, find a secure place to park. If you have a tent, carefully select the plot of land you are going to use. If you do it before nighttime, it is easier to get familiar with the area. You will be able to see a lot better, and this will make everything easier.

If you enjoyed camping when you were younger, you can go again if you really want to. This article will help bring back fond camping memories and help steer you in the right direction for a trip that goes well.

I've never really camped besides a tent in the yard with a friend or two. I've always blamed my back as I've gotten older but that's really just an excuse, a decent pump up air mattress would probably do the trick. Thanks for the tips in the post, they might seem like common sense but when you are wrapped up in the activity it's easy to forget the simplest things!
