Sometimes you have no choice but to take that sloooow ferry boat from port to port when island hopping here in the Philippnes. Some larger ports in the Philippines however offer faster travel accommodations... the faster catamaran ferry boat. In the Central Philippines (Visayas) we use the SuperCat and we can get to where we're going much quicker! The SuperCat Fast Ferry Corporation operates between 7-9 catamarans covering some 7 ports in the Visayas. The craft range from older 24 meter catamarans to the newer and larger 30 to 38 meter catamarans. Generally, SuperCat vessels can travel at speeds of between 28 to 32 knots, depending on sea conditions. The trip we took in this video was in rather rough seas so we were lucky to make 20 knots headway and still only took us 45 minutes to get from Cebu to Bohol.

I've taken the SuperCat ferry to Bohol from Cebu. Very nice time. Enjoy the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier primates. Oh, and the San Miguel...

What would life in the tropics be without cold beer?

silly question, I looked at the video last. LOL

Ha, yeah! Since these are catamarans, there is no cargo hold for vehicles. Wanna take your car, you go back to the sloooow boats! he he

How much do they charge for the Supercat? In Thailand I think it's around $30-40 per passenger, depending on ports.

Much cheaper here... my wife says the cost was about P500 (one-way) or about $10. Prices may have changed since that time.

Too many damn tourists in Thailand.

And most don't know about tiered pricing!

Interesting...I wanna ride in one.

haven't been on it yet but will in the future , can you take your car. If so,how much.

Nope!
