Yashas' Travelogue #26 - A Monument Of Shia Architecture - Historical Site Visit To Bara Imambara

Ornamental Mughal architecture and right in the middle of Lucknow city, Bara Imambara is a beautiful historical monument one can relive the history lessons here. Every part of Imambara has been designed to perfection.

A huge entrance to the Imambara welcomes you to the garden area of Imambara, the pathway of which leads you to a ancient mosque now being closed down. Every building here is tomb structured and a stair case is gracefully designed to lead to the entrance of each building.

A eventful stroll inside Bara Imambara introduces you to the Shia Muslim architecture and this place was built for a specific ritual performed during the holy first month of Islamic Calender.

Huge gateway ornamentally designed to perfection keeps you occupied during your stay at Bara Imambara. A huge prayer hall then greets you and guides you towards the famous Bhool Bhulaiah.

Outside of the Imambara is a huge Gate which is supposed to be Asia's largest gate called Rumi Gate. And Iambara also houses Bhool Bhulayia(Maze). One cannot enter the maze without a guide's guidance.
