If you weren't aware, many state license may not be valid as government ID when traveling. The original date set for enforcement was January 22, 2018. However, the TSA recently issued an extension until October 11, 2018. For states under review, no extension from the government was issued, therefore the January 22 deadline is still in effect as of today.
Check the map to see which states are currently compliant with the law, and which are still trying to figure out what to do. This is such a hassle, but thankfully it's been pushed back for a few more months.
In lieu of a non-compliant ID, a valid passport would be the only solution, so if you haven't renewed your passport, you might want to check up on that!
