4 years ago when I was in my country and I worked and worked. I had not much time to enjoy life. I had 12 days of vacations a year. But I didn't go anywhere. I just spent my time in the city or visit my parents. I was bored and wanted to do something different. Something that makes me feel alive. I was working like a robot at that time. No feeling. I worked because I got money every month for a living. I didn't work because I love that job.

Holland

One day I have talked to my friend, she was younger than me. I told her about my feeling. And she asked me do you want to travel. I answered without thinking "yes, yes I think I want to travel somewhere. Then she told me about the au pair program.

After I finished my work. I drived home and searched on the internet, what is au pair program and how I can be a part of it. I found many agencies in Thailand. And I chose one and contacted them.

Berlin, Germany

Au pair is a culture exchange program for young adult ages 18 - 30 years, who have no children. They can travel abroad for 1 or 2 years to help out taking care of the kids and do some light housework. Au pair will get free flight tickets, free food, free language course, free private room and pocket money every month. Au pair has to work 30 hours a week.

I have waited for a year searching for a host family in Holland. Finally, I was lucky. I matched with a host family in Holland. I worked for 1 year there. That was my first time traveled aboard and Holland was so far away from my country.
