Hello steeminas ,
my main purpose of writing this article is to make all my steemian friends get acquainted with the beautiful place of Andaman and Nicobar islands which are extremely scenic and picturesque, ideal place to visit for honeymoon couples, adventure seekers ,travel enthusiast and all others.to be really very wise these islands have something or the other to offer and cater to each and every class of travelers. The andaman and nicobar islands are located in the bay of Bengal(INDIA),roughly there are 300 small islands which form the Andaman and Nicobar territory. Port Blair is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar union territories. Veer Savarkar Airport also known as Port Blair airport is the main domestic as well as international airport of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.Andaman.jpg
The ideal time to visit Andaman and Nicobar islands is from november to mid may, but to be very frank ,Andaman and Nicobar are actually year round destination to be visited place .Monsoon in the andaman and nicobar begin from july and last till the last week of september.Me and My wife visited the Andman and Nicbar Islands for our honeymoon in the 1st week of march of 2016.I had booked my entire trip package of 5 nights and 6 days through makemytrip.com a popular online travel portal website. I had to shell out almost roughly 1 lakh indian rupees i.e approximately 1550 us dollars for my entire trip package which inlcuded air travel from my hometown city i.e pune to port blair. we left on the 3rd of march from pune to chennai from 4am flight which reached chennai at 5.55 am approximately . we had a connecting flight from chennai to port blair at 10am. as it was long waiting time for us we decided to go in the chennai city , had our breakfast and again return to the airport for our next flight ![IMG_20160304_090400.jpg]( . we boarded our next flight to port blair at around 10.00 am and landed at around 12.20 pm .when we came out of the airport we were received by our makemytrip representative named vishal who escorted us to our hotel named seashell hotel located in the centre of port Blair city.I noticed We were around 4-5 couples who had booked their packages through makemytrip for their honeymoon. as we all were all given small mini van as mode of transport from the airport to our hotel. we were damn hungry till we reached our hotel at around 1.15 pm so we immediately decided to get freshen up and ordered our food from their in house restaurant.we then took some rest and left for corbyn's cove beach in the evening around at 5pm, by this time we had made friends with other couple named Nilesh and Shruti ,four of us were sharing one common vehicle for our itinerary provided by makemytrip .Corbyn's cove beach is perfect sunset point and it is also one of the popular romantic beaches if andaman. There are also small vendors selling you coconut water and other snacks on this beach which you can enjoy by renting small recliners.corbyn's cove.jpg. we returned to our hotel at around 8pm in the evening after our nice beach strolling and long walks.seashell hotel in port Blair has very nice rooftop dinning lounge and restaurant which has live music performances by nice group of artists. The restaurant was pretty busy in the evening and we had some good food and lot of dance sessions, this was perfect ending of our first day in port Blair. Next morning after our breakfast we had to leave for our next destination i.e Ross island at around 10 am. we had to board a ferry and took us almost 15 minutes to reach Ross island . download.jpg
Ross Island is very small Island and we spent couple of hours on it. There are so many boat operators which goes to Ross Island and North Bay. If you have to do Scuba Diving don't buy the tickets from the Boat operator. You can buy the ticket directly from North Bay.

On Ross Island, there are many deer and rabbits .From 1942 to 1945, the island was occupied by the Japanese. there are still small Japanese bunkers on this island which are in good condition. This Island inow in ruins was once used to be called Paris of East. The island still has the ruins of printing press , secretariat office, a church and a graveyard etc.download (2).jpg
There is an electric car which charges Rs50 i.e almost 80us cents. We opted for the car which showed us half of the Island. Then we walked to the other side of the Island which was not covered by the electric car.we returned from Ross island around 2pm and came back to the ferry port to board a ferry from port Blair to havelock island . our luggage was already at the dock as it was well managed by makemytrip guy . we had to board a ferry named makruzz mv-makruzz.jpg. we left around 3pm by the ferry ,the ferry was nice and they served the customers with complimentary snacks and cold drinks .after 3 hour sailing we finally reached havelock island.after reaching havelock we checked into our hotel i.e seashell resort havelock, this was one of the best hotel properties that we stayed in during our entire trip.seashell havelock is spread in quite huge area with private beach connected to it and there are wooden cottages inside ideal for couples. sea-shell-havelock-the.jpg
the rooms are pretty decent and spacious with jacuzzi . challet_room_interior_w.jpg. the most romantic feature of this property is the private beach attached to it along with reclining chairs kept by the hotel for its customers relaxation 104869744.jpg. After keeping our luggage inside and having coffee we left for private beach of our resort. we returned back to our hotel after all the fun at private beach at around 7 pm ,after having our coffee and freshening up we left for shopping in the local market of havelock .Local market in havelock doesn't have much to offer other than daily necessities such as grocery items, snacks ,food stalls and liquor shop. The shops close around 9pm-10pm to be precised .we came back from shopping and headed straight to our resort's bar which is located exactly in the center of the resort amidst beautiful long trees. here also they had live singing performances by artists which adds to your nice wine and dine session.a perfect closure to beautiful day in havelock. Next morning we had to leave for elephant beach which we left at around 10am. There are also lot of water sports and activities this beach offers like snorkeling, scuba diving , sofa ride , motor boats , banana ride etc. we had snorkeling session of around 45 minutes for which we had to shell out around 1000 rupees per person i.e around 15 us dollars. elephanta-beach.jpg
the water is so clear here that you can easily see 40-50 feet below .The corals are beautiful and also amazing different species of fishes you can explore. This beach is a must visit place.we came back to our hotel around 2.30 pm and after some relaxation went straight to kala pathar beach . kalapathar means black rock, the walk to this beach from the vehicle parking point is around 20-25 minutes and there are lot of rocks stuck in the sand which makes it difficult to walk towards this beach. after our 25 minutes walk we reached this beach and were really struck by the beautiful rock formations this beach had around it. this beach also had small ponds of water with crystal clear water and lot of fishes.IMG_20160307_145658.jpg. after visiting this is nice beach we headed back to our hotel around 5 pm . we did some relaxation at the private beach of our resort on the recliners and had nice buffet dinner organized by the resort in the night along with nice live band hosted by the resort again a splendid ending to a perfect day. Next morning we had to leave for Neil island in private .We were picked up by our vehicle after landing on the port and taken to check in at our hotel which was again sea shell .This property of sea shell is also very beautiful with small private beach which has swings hung to the barks of the long trees on the private beach.tent.jpg
the rooms are perfect and cozy , overall the entire resort property of seashell neil island is totally blissful place.seashell-neil-island.jpg we had nice full lunch in the afternoon after which we immediately left for bharatpur beach. we reached bharatpur around 2pm . this beach also has lot of water sport activities to offer like motorboat ride, snorkeling etc but the best feature is the glass boat ride which you can have for around 500 rupees per person i.e around 8USD . this boat has glass bottom which is fully transparent which makes us the clear water below visible. you can enjoy this ride and see beautiful fishes and coral reef below . we also spotted quite few nemo's during this boat ride. This glass boat ride is a must to do feature at this beach.Bharatpur-Beach-at-Neil-Island-Andaman-8-min.jpg. there are also small vendors located on this beach selling ornaments ,jewellery and souvenir made from rare found stones in the coral reef of this island. you have to bargain a lot to get these beautiful pieces of jewellery with the vendors to get them at discounted price.we returned from bharatpur beach around 7pm in the evening.after reaching our hotel property , we freshened up and immediately went for our night dinner buffet organized by the hotel. The food was good , not quite exceptional to be frank. after dinner we enjoyed on our private beach amidst the whistling waves of the sea and enjoying some session at the swing. Next morning we left for port Blair again at around 10pm. as it was our last day of the trip ,we decided to go to the local market for shopping. we reached our hotel i.e seashell and immediately left for local shopping market. here in the local market you can buy items made of wood and corals to carry along with you as a memory or gift your loved ones.shopping1.jpgafter our shopping got over we went to have our lunch and returned to our hotel. around 6pm in the evening after having essential rest we left for the cellular jail sound and light show. this is the place and show which you cannot miss while you are in Andaman . the show is almost of minutes with amazing light and sound effects. the show is prretty detail as it explains the entire history of the cellular jail , Andaman and Nicobar islands and take you down to the memory lane literallyjail.jpg the show got over around pm .we returned to our hotel had our dinner and slept quite early as we had to leave at am next morning. the next morning we checked out of our hotel and had to again go to cellular jail to take the tour of the jail in broad daylight. there is also a small museum in the jail were all the artifacts and pictures are displayed explaining the history of the entire jail , port Blair and Andaman Nicobar islands.don't miss to go on the roof of the jail as it has very beautiful view of the entire port Blair island jail mm.jpg .after the jail tour we left for the port Blair international airport as we had to board our flight in the afternoon at 2 pm. finally our life remembering trip had come to an end .we already started missing the memories of the days spent in Andaman.
