If you've been saving your SBD and you're looking for some really wild places to see in Australia, then this is the post series for you!
Let's take a look at a unique sight, lodging, and dining in each of the six states! There are definitely more amazing things to be seen and experienced, but we can't keep you here all day!
Today, let's visit...
New South Wales!
Sure, you could go see the Sydney Opera House, the iconic staple and top of the sightseeing list, stay in a budget hotel, and have Maccas... but that's a bit boring, don't you think?
Not to mention, there is shoulder to shoulder people in the capital city. If that is your scene, by all means, go!
But how about something a little more scenic?
Blue Mountains National Park!
Sightseeing and hiking at it's finest! Beautiful mountains, waterfalls, natural wonders and a perfect place to see lots of the local wildlife!
One view you may have heard of is The Three Sisters! There are breathtaking lookouts at many locations, even one that surveys almost the entire mountain range.
With nearish 376 KM of bushwalking trails and circuits, you will surely never run out of areas to hike!
And if you make it towards the end of the mountain range, one last expedition awaits! The Jenolan caves!
Underground limestone caves with guided river tours!
But if warm rainforests aren't your thing, you can always check out Dua National Park! It is a bit chillier and more temperate!
As to a room with a unique view, how about Jamala Wildlife Lodge?
This lodge is something really special!
It is housed in a zoo with unusually large enclosures to ensure animal welfare (and happiness!). It was started by a family whose passion lies in animal preservation, education, and animal husbandry. Funding from the accommodations goes to further fund the zoo and the care for the wildlife!
There are three unique housing options! One of which is the treetops room where you can feed giraffe right from your balcony! The glass walls of the rooms face up to the expansive enclosures and chances are, you will have some tigers and bears wandering up to check out that strange humans! (There is even a room with views into their shark tank!)
During your stay, you can feed the animals, enjoy a guided tour, and learn all about the animals being kept there! Then you could close the day with dinner while being accompanied by white lions!
As to price, I couldn't even begin to tell you how much this stay may cost. (But it is probably worth it)
How does a Cafe brunch and a cooking class sound?
Long Track Pantry is an interesting little gem hidden away in Jugiong!
You can stop in for some tasty staples, pick up some Jam/preserves, and then even take a cooking course or two!
This place has a definitely country hipster vibe but looks incredibly promising and the reviews are incredible!
But if you can't make it to NSW, worry not! Their online website offers some of their biggest selling condiments and even a cook book from their cafe for sale! (I'm eyeing their white peach and raspberry jam, myself)

I really hope to visit Australia one of these days. My Godmother was Australian and my cousin lives in Australia, but I've never made it out there. Definitely on my "bucket list."
