Camino del Cid Cycling tour in Spain

in travel •  7 years ago

As some of you know. Two weeks ago I took a 5 days cycling trip around in Spain, in the center of the country.
There is a well known legentary spanish knight from the middle ages know as El Cid. He travelled around some areas of the country and now there is a chance to follow some of his historical routes.

You can get a bunch of information on the official website

On the third day of my trip, I did stop by an incredible historical old town called Medinaceli. Here's a nice shot from there with the Roman Arch

Sounds like a great adventure! I live in Madrid, so would definitely be in to something like this. Enjoy! :)

I did start my trip in Guadalajara, just 1hr away from Madrid by train, and ended in Calatayud. It's a great five-day trip. My only suggestion is to try to do it before or after the summer, it was too hot and the days I was travelling and had to start my days early in the moorning. Another option is cycling at night, I know of some ppl who has decided to go that way.
