Hello lovely fellow steemits :). Great News is today I am going to start a series of articles about AFRICA. Of course people some people who will see this will be like we already know but just because you know doesn't mean everybody knows :). Usually when people hear Africa they think of a big jungle or country full of naked people walking around still hunting and gathering animals and fruits(LOL) but thats not the case. I will take you all around Africa in parts.Will start with Southern Africa. Will go in alphabetical order (just felt like saying that)
The first country is Angola. Lets see what Angola has.
ANGOLA -
- Angola is the 17th largest country in Africa with approximately 25.02 million people as of 2015
- The official language is Portuguese
- The capital city Luanda is the largest city in Angola and was once upon a time the most expensive city in the world.
- The country is bordered by 3 countries(Congo, Namibia & Zambia) and the Atlantic Ocean
- In 1557 the country was colonized by Paulo Dias de Novais a Portuguese man who came with 100 families of colonists and 400 soldiers.
- Angola later got its independence in 1975. Affter gaining independence Angola started a civil war the same year. The civil wall ended in 2002
- Angola is the third largest producer of diamonds in Africa and has only explode 40% of its diamond rich territory in the country. Angola is also rich in several other mineral resources that had not been fully exploited by the early twenty- first century . These include manganese, copper, gold, phosphates, granite, marble, uranium, quartz, lead, zinc, wolfram, tin, fluorite, sulfur, feldspar, kaolin, mica, asphalt, gypsum, and talc.
- Angola has nice places to visit here are a few:
- Miradour a da Lua also known as "Valley of the moon" is a tourist attraction found in the capital city Luanda.
The landscape is very unique. The valley of the moon is located near the coast 25 miles of south Luanda. At sunset it offers a view similar to that f the moon hence the name given to it

- Kalandula falls formerly known as Duque de Bragança Falls are found in Malanje province on the Lucala River. The falls are 344 feet high and 1300 feet wide. They are one of the largest falls by volume in Africa.
- Black Rocks at Pungo Andongo are found about 115 km away from the provincial capital of Malanje.
They are a series of rock formations. They are shaped like animals standing high above the flat African savanna. Here you can fine the footprint of Queen Ana de Sousa Nzinga Mbande.

Angola has has a rich an beautiful tradition.A part from Portuguese begin there official Language they have 40 native languages including 6 Bantu languages (Umbundu, Kimbundu, Chokwe, Kikongo, Ngangela, and Kwanyama aka Oshikwanyama) are the most spoken. The have beautiful women and men.

Luanda is still expensive as hell. I stayed at the airport for a stop over as I went to Maputo. 5 euros only to enter the smoking room ,only in bills, no euro coins. No wi-fi, no clear information at the airport, an utter mess. The visa is very expensive and Luanda is too, otherwise I would consider going. Huambo seems interesting!
