hello dear friends
I know I'm a bit behind with the report, but here was so much going on with lea, that I hardly had time to sleep, and of course not to write. I am reporting today from Lake Titicaca from Puno. the coming contributions are also from the diary of lea, she unfortunately has no steem. but there are more photos for you because she is so diligent.
Because I did not get the bus yesterday, I woke up from my alarm clock very early in the apartment of selina. I quickly had a tea and after saying goodbye, I went to the bus terminal and took the first bus back to curacavi.
arrived there, a heating installer picked me up, he was also just on the way to carina. After breakfast, I prepared a asparagus bed for the upcoming season. There was lunch and then juan and I chopped a pile of wood.
Shortly after the agnihotra I learned from lea that unfortunately she would not arrive in santiago until the next day. Her plane had mechanical problems and she would sleep one night in London. So I will not go to santiago until Wednesday to pick them up. After dinner I photographed the hiking book, which I borrowed from selina. There are some beautiful trails in the north of Chile, one of which lea and I might want to run one or two.
Today, after ritual and breakfast, we went straight to the forest to find out with juan that the chainsaw is not working so well and runs out every now and then. that was a problem, because the mechanic had just replaced the carburetor and unfortunately about an hour's drive away. So we tried a while with the instructions to restore the factory state, we did it but unfortunately it did not get better. So we digged along the holes for the fruit trees and dug out some huge stones.
after noon, carina said goodbye, she had to go to the doctor and do a few things in the city. After refining the compost and having a little tea break, we chopped lots of old wood again and after the agnihotra we both had delicious hamburger, with soya meat, before I finished the sign for lea.
my day today started very early and with a lot of anticipation, today i would pick up lea from the airport. At 7:00 am her plane would land in santiago. So I packed the shield and warm sweaters. The neighbors a little further up the hill had offered to take me along, besides, they had the delicious honey they produce themselves. arrived at the airport I waited with the nice sign on the way out on lea.
she arrived and we greeted each other warmly, the day she had to wait in London for the next flight, she had met a nice dane. he also took the bus that drove to the center of santiago. there we said goodbye to him, his journey continues to valparaíso. lea and I bought some fruit, we had arranged with camila, a friend of the nomade festival, for breakfast there was vegan chocolate pancakes, fruit bowl and good coffee. then we left our backpacks on the floor to use the day in the city with little weight on the back.
market la vega
climb to the cerro de san cristóbal
museum of fine arts
After about 18 km we went to Camila's house to pick up our backpacks and drove to the station Pajarito to take the bus that brought us back to Karina. Juan picked us up by car to take us to the farm. In the house, Carina already prepared the dinner.
then we showered and sat down, before going to sleep, with a cup of tea in front of the fire in the stove.
It was definitely a cold night and I woke up lea to get to the agnihotra on time. We put on sweaters, scarves and blankets and went to the garden. it was the first time for lea, but she did her job very well.
When we returned to the bungalow, we lit the fireplace again and prepared for the breakfast. After chai tea, home-made bread, fresh local cheese and quince marmalade, we dressed to collect some more compost by car at the cow farm.
When we got home again, we started to pull some small trees with the root out of the earth to plant them later in the forest, reforesting the classic.
It was time to eat a delicious stew: beans, with noodles, pumpkin and some parmesan with chai tea. then we had a break.
then we continue to work on the hill and plant the remaining trees. We finished the day after shredding a heap of branches with a chipiar.
We rearranged the furniture in the bungalow so we could clean it up a bit. at night agnihotra and dinner, then we fell asleep.
at 7:47 am the agnihotra started today. Then we lit the fireplace and prepared for the breakfast.
This morning we went to the forest to cut a tree and hack two. so i threw a rope around the trunk like a lasso, then pulled it to one side while juan sawed the tree, it fell in the right direction. After we sawed everything, we carried all the pieces behind the house. It took almost two hours to do the whole job, but it was like working a whole day.
Juan and I began to split wood and lea began cleaning a refrigerator that was from the city's friend of Carina and was very dirty because it was not used.
then lea has sprinkled some bioduges based on earthworm humus and cow dung on the fruit trees while juan and i started to shred wood to bark mulch.
As Carina has a birthday today, a friend of Carina came to see her with her children. We ate cake with Juan, Carina and the guests. the blue-eyed blonde dwarf and lea, after the meal, kept their fun while I tried on the ukulele.
After we had dinner, we returned to the bungalow until the washing machine was ready. During the night, we hang the things in our "living room" so that they dry with the heat of the fire.
After the morning agnihotra we had breakfast with the same friends from yesterday, who had also slept in the house.
We drove to the neighbor's house to fetch wood there and saw it off before we took it home. We then put the fridge in the big house and Juan lent me his razor so lea can cut my hair.
for lunch we ate for the last time with carina and juan, I knew that for a long time first, nowhere else would eat as good as here, so we neatly reached. after we packed the backpack, we said goodbye to carina and juan took us to the bus stop.
As soon as we were at the stop, we started to hitchhike. a very nice man brought us to casablanca. Lea and he talk a lot about politics and the situation in spain.
I'm the little black spot that started during the rain, trying to make people stop. Finally, a bus came to take us to valparaíso. We had an appointment with selina in the evening, but she had not answered us yet, so we fled to a supermarket.
We were then in a bar called barmacia to drink beer and protect the backpack with plastic. Arrived in Selina's apartment, we had dinner while lea cuddled with the cat.
During the meal we had a discussion about politics and the subject of refugees. The sleeping situation was a bit difficult, as Selina's old housemates had picked up her mattress, she slept on a sleeping mat and lea and I shared the bed. she is an incredibly nice person who just radiates good mood.
The nights in Valpo are cold and I slept relatively restless. Selina organized the breakfast and we had a rich avena, fruit and cheese.
Lea and I walked in Valparaíso to go to the market and say hello to the sea lion. We also picked up the tickets for the bus to la serena tomorrow at 9 o'clock.
there are street dogs everywhere. this was the one who accompanied us today all morning. we saw him again in the afternoon.
because it was raining a lot again, we took refuge in a supermarket, where lea bought a fanny pack and a fleece jacket. drenched we went home. When we were back in the room the sun began to shine.
In the afternoon we visited Martina, Carina had given us some Agnihotra pyramids, which were intended for her. since it was their farewell party, we ate a few pieces of pizza there. then we took a walk over the tourist cerro alegre.
We also bought a few snacks for breakfast and the ingredients to make chai tea. me and the roommates made dinner, pancakes with tea and dulce de leche. after we had finished, we ate together in the common room, while outside the world went down, so much rain, that the roads were barely visible, rather rivers.
Full of anticipation for our journey, we went to bed.
That's it for a few days, I hope I can catch up, until I arrive in brazil.
love
