Savage Seas

One of the best places to do a little storm watching is the sea wall running along Dallas Road in Victoria BC. It doesn't happen often but once the wind picks up you can capture some spectacular moments of the waves crashing against the wall and up onto the road.

It can be a little on the dangerous side due to debris being wash on to the road and beach. During the larger storms pieces of wood, kelp and even the occasional log can be hurled on to the parked cars and sidewalk.

On days like these bring protection for yourself and your camera from the elements. I usually have a camera sleeve that that fits around the lends and the body to protect it from the water as well as a tripod to reduce camera shake in the wind.

Thanks for reading and happy storm hunting.

Scott
