On the waterfront of my favourite city in Europe, The Admiralty building is the former headquarters of the Imperial Russian Navy and is a reminder of Russia’s formidable naval strength. The original building was a fortified shipyard and was reconstructed in the nineteenth century to support Alexander II’s maritime ambitions. I captured this photo from Alexander Gardens at the west end of Nevsky Prospekt, the central street of St. Petersburg while on a two week trip to in March. Like I mentioned in a previous post, when it doesn't rain in Saint Petersburg, the light is absolutely incredible.
