Lombok and the Gili Islands
Hello friends, we decided to give Lombok and the Gili Islands a shot as I have been wanting a short escape to somewhere peaceful and serene. A relaxing trip to just chill by the beach or the resort's infinity pool (really amazing view). Bali was on the list but after considering that it's now densely populated and the bad jams, we decided on somewhere prettier and less crowded! So here's a short overview of Lombok and Gili!
We went during the end of March (still considered the rainy season) but the weather was good, if not a little too sunny!

The Gili Islands are a 15 minutes boat ride (speedboat) north-west of the coast of Lombok. We departed from Bangsal Harbour. Our speedboat charter for the 2 of us cost us about 700,000 IDR round trip. That makes it to about 175,000 IDR (~ $17.5 SGD) per pax for a one-way trip. Alternatively, you can opt for the cheaper slow boat which takes about an hour to reach (I hate boat rides so nope). Probably set you back for about 25,000 IDR.

The road was fairly disgusting as it was a mixture of mud, sand and HORSE DUNG. Good luck to you when it rains. There are no motorised transport on Gili Tranwangan. The main mode of transport here would be walking, cycling, or by cidomo (Horse and cart). The horses here are poorly treated and groomed. I do not support such treatment and encourage all to avoid taking these horses as a form of transport.

Snorkelling trip around the Gili Islands! The tour around the 3 Gili Islands took roughly 5 hours. We managed to see some sea turtles and marine life but unfortunately didn’t manage to snap much photos as I was down with very bad motion sickness from the boat ride.
Our last day in Lombok, we decided to end it with a massage at Puri Mas Spa Resort. There is free transport available from the main hotel to the dedicated spa resort.
And of course, what better way to end the trip than with a glorious view of the sunset.
