South of Zadar, between the Kornati Islands and the Krka cascades is Tribunj, an old and small porttown. The old part of the city is located on an island, two other islands build a bay with flat water around the city. For a little money you can dock on the promenade of the old town, right next to all the restaurants and bars. You clear your ship, step on the pier, take the next deckchair and order a bottle ofwine. More or less, this is what we love about Tribunj! The other reason why we come here from time to time is the lovely charme this small town has. Old houses and narrow lanes with hidden restaurants and many bars.
You finish your glas of wine, step out your deckchair and jump into the water, exactly like the owner of the bar did it 5 minutes earlier. Shortly before sunset you should leave the old town to climb the hill next to the island. When you reach the small chapelle at the top oft he hill, you can see the sun set behind the mountains of the Kornati Islands, and on the horizon you can see the glittering adria. The way back to the oldtown is easy, the streets are full of people and everywhere is loudmusic. Within a few minutes you find a typical Konoba, with tasty wine and a traditionnal grilll-platter. Quite a good start into the evening!
