Traveling to Kyoto Japan

Traveling to Kyoto Japan is the number one list of every explorer. Kyoto is the sightseeing capital. It’s rich culture, tradition, and experience makes every tourist return to Kyoto time to time again and again.

When I visited Kyoto, the cherry blossoms were gone. Although Kyoto is a year round destination. But tourist are everywhere from your left, right, front and to your back.

So when is the best time to Visit and check out Kyoto Japan?

Kyoto is at its best during early spring where the cherry blossoms starts to bloom. First to second week of April to be exact. Sadly as I mentioned I did not experience the beauty of the cherry blossoms so no pictures as of the moment.

But there is one season that makes Kyoto very beautiful. That season is autumn. Be amaze on how Kyoto’s nature turns into gold, red, orange, and brown. I personally have not experience it but base on the photos that was captured by my sister. Autumn is worth to wait.

Where to go when your in Kyoto Japan?

There are lots of destinations to go when your in Kyoto. But unfortunately you cant visit them all in one day unless you have rented a car or a tour bus who can give you a ride around Kyoto. I have only visited three destinations since we consumed all the time from commuting since some of the places are bit to far plus we kept on riding wrong buses in Kyoto.

1. The Golden Pavilion

Kinkakuji or as known as The Temple of Golden Pavilion is a Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. What  gold leaf? Sadly the temple is not 100% made of gold. The temple itself is just a replica.

2. Arashiyama Bamboo Groove

One of the most cliche photos that you can see on Instagram. Its relaxing ambiance makes you feel on a different world. Its tall bamboos makes you want to stare at them all day.

3. The Storm Mountain of Arashiyama and Hozugawa River

After traveling to the world of Bamboo. The mountain and the river is just a short walk from the bamboo groove. This place is so far the most relax and chill. After your journey to the world of bamboo you may take a rest and enjoy the natural cinematic view of Arashiyama. So while you are enjoying the view there are small authentic Japanese restaurants beside the river and experience the 100% authentic food. Or enjoy a boat ride!

Tips before traveling to Kyoto Japan

If you are traveling without the help of any travel agency make sure to have these three very important essentials.

We all have that right? Make use of it. Google is your friend.

But sometimes google just makes your life harder so get the essential number 2!

2. Girl’s Instincts

I literary mean this. We could never go wrong with that!

3. A one time transportation fee for a day

Ask the local train station if they have this. Keihan railway has this worth 1600 yen. You can use this card for all keihan trains and buses and all Kyoto City Bus and subways and Kyoto Bus. Better get this to save money!
