Hello Steemit!
Today I bring you a review of the Pico Espejo in Mérida, Venezuela.
Pico Espejo is a geographical feature located in the Sierra Nevada of the Andean mountain range, near Pico Bolívar in Venezuela. It has an elevation of 4765 meters above sea level and the fifth and last station of the Mérida cable car system is located on its summit, which makes it the most accessible mountain of the great peaks of the Sierra Nevada de Mérida.
To start the tour you must arrive at the heroin square to later take the longest cable railway in the world.
Once you complete the "flight", you literally get to heaven.
The structure was built mostly with French, Swiss and German support. By 1958 it was 50% built. The work was completed in March 1960 thanks to the support of Venezuelan workers and the foreign technical team led by the French specialist Maurice Comte. The work had a cost for the moment of its construction of 70,000,000 Bolívares that for the time they were equivalent to about 16 million dollars. Throughout the years, the Mérida cable car system has been updated, ensuring it and guaranteeing its continuity over time.
For the year 2010 the Venezuelan government made an investment of 109 million euros to rebuild this place. Despite Venezuela being a country with many economic and political problems, this does not stop having wonderful landscapes.
I hope you liked the show. See you soon Steemit!

Wow, that is amazing to be above the clouds like that. Did the altitude affect you at 4765 meters?

I bet! I live at sea level, so that definitely sounds like a recipe for disaster.

San Francisco, have you been here? The highest I've been was Cusco, and that was a bit tough. My sister went to Mt. Everest base camp and had to do a short stint in the hospital on oxygen - eek!
