The Rider Died But The Bike Didn't

After 6 interesting and mind blowing mysteries we come to one of my personal favourites. The Ghost Bike which has now become a shrine called Om Banna Shrine.

source

Worshiping a bike may sound crazy to us but people of Pali and nearby district of Rajasthan state in India worship a bike.Om Banna shrine locally known as Bullet Baba or Motorcycle Baba is located on Jodhpur-Ahemdabad highway.

Baba means saint in Hindi. Also Bullet is a popular and prevelant name for Royal Enfield Motorcycles in India.

The legend behind the shrine is centered around a proud owner of Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Om Banna.Om Banna was riding down the road in 1991 when his bike slammed into a tree and Om died on the spot. The bike was brought back to the police station for investigation purposes however the very next morning the bike disappeared and was found under the same tree Om crashed into.

Considering it a prank the police took the bike to police station, chained the bike and drained the fuel tank. The next day the bike was found under the same tree. The police and people were amazed by the miraculous bike and believed it contained supernatural powers.A shrine was erected at the same place.

source

Today everybody passing the shrine be it truck drivers, cabbies or two wheeler stop and pay their homage with liquor and pray for their well being during the journey.Believe it or not,the villagers nearby the shrine can still hear the revving of engine in dead of the night!

NewsCoverage of the Shrine.

wow so beautiful bike ,nice post

Wow😁

Wow !!! Imagine the deceased rider riding back the bike... sometimes we believe that the soul is restless and dissatisfied... poor soul!

Whatt?! wow this is an awesome story of motorcycle culture that I have never heard. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and spend much of my time riding, working on, or researching new bikes. I have never ran across a story about this bike. Very interesting and cool! Thanks for sharing!

Upvoted and following! Awesome mystery series
