This is the Island of two towns “Busuanga & Coron” located in the Northern part of Palawan Province. Coron has known for its amazing lagoons, lakes, beaches surrounded by magnificent limestone formations, mountains and hot spring. A circle of workmates help me make my dream come to reality.
When we first set foot at Busuanga airport I can’t imagine how excited I am embracing my dream into a real world. It’s about an hour travelling from Busuanga airport to Coron town. When we get there in the hotel where are going stay and setting things up and it’s about 4:00 in the afternoon. We immediately utilize the time climbing the 2nd highest mountain in Coron the Mt. Tapyas catching the sunset. We took a tricycle in going to the base of that mountain. When we arrived at the base it’s like a calvary hill to climb for us we need enough energy endurance and stamina to take more than 700 steps to the top.
Climbing to Mt. Tapyas. We lost our breath 1/3 way to the top. We stop a couple of minute just to revive our energy and refuel our body. Then we made another stop at 2/3 to the top to regain energy again. It is very challenging trek as we go higher and higher the amount of oxygen decreasing. Finally we made it to the top a self rewarding moment you see the 360 view of the island breathing fresh air, feeling the cold wind to your sweating body and dramatic scene of the sun setting down. It’s a different feeling you experience when you get there.
Maquinit hot spring. All of our body pains from the whole day activities will turn to a fully energized and recharged feeling when we make it to the sulfuric hot water. The amount of sulfur in the water can help the body to regain energy and kick out pains.
On our second day of trip, I consider it a final destination where I can personally see the main attractions in Coron that made it known to travelers. Riding a motor banka is the only way to reach the beautiful landscapes that I only see in the internet before.
These are Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and Barracuda Lake are stunningly amazing. It all surrounded with breath taking limestone formations. It’s my first time ever I saw these amazing views in my life. It’s all worth it! The last spot we visited was the CYC beach we enjoy the breeze of the wind in going to the beach while crossing from the place where lagoons and lakes are located going to the opposite side.
CYC beach is white powdery sand with crystal clear water that everyone loved to.
When you are a traveler, Philippine Island has lot to offer in terms of beaches, historical places, modern cities etc. When you get bored to urban life traffic and want something different, I recommend Coron is a good place to go with. Cheaper compared to El nido. Great foods, amazing people and save lot of penny.
It's more fun in the Philippines...
