Cheonjiyeon Falls: Where Heaven and Earth meet

South Korea is a country of two distinct worlds: the traditional and historic, and the advanced and the new. Despite being a country globally known for modern technological advances and rapid urbanization, South Korea preserves a vast culture as well as natural beauty. As a result, it is a realm full of panoramic sights of a new, upscale area, where nightclubs, coffee shops, karaoke bars and stores sell a diverse array of goods everything from designer-label clothing to freshly baked French loaf. But at the same time, there are numerous towns where you will find the old South Korea; street markets formed in an intriguing labyrinth where merchants sell everything from fruits, vegetables, and seafood just as they have done for centuries before. South Korea has much to offer to the avid traveler and the curious adventurer, and many believe it to be the unspoiled jewel of Asia. It possesses largely untouched natural landscapes, a vibrant history with ancestral heritage and local people who are warm, welcoming and friendly.
An exquisite example of this mesmerizing beauty of South Korea is Cheonjiyeon Falls: where Heaven and Earth meet. White bubbles float about in the forest. The bubbles seem to be in their own harmony, veiled by the dense forest and wet fog. Just as you seem to be possessed by the soothing melody, you find a majestic waterfall, cascading through the tall and thick trees. Sending out crystal clear air and sounds, the waterfalls appear to reach into your soul and cleanse away the toxins buried deep inside. Take a stroll along the subtropical trail towards the Cheonjiyeon Falls and you will be able to hear the sumptuous sound of the water falling.
Cheonjiyeon Falls is located on elliptical Jeju Island, with Mt. Halla at the heart, which is the largest island south of the Korean Peninsula. The waterfall is a legendary site where seven divine beings descended from heaven to bathe in the lake; hence the name means 'the lake of the gods.' To pay respect to the holy place, a Seven Fairies Festival is held every May.
The beauty and serenity of the divine Cheonjiyeon Falls surrounded by the deep forests of Jeju Island make it one of the most die-hard tourist locations that require a visit once in a lifetime. The Cheonijiyeon Falls climbs up on top of my list of my favorite places in Korea, and I believe for many others too.
