The story we have been told is: go to school, university, work, get married, get a mortgage, have kids, watch them do the same, retire and die.... Some never leave where they were born. Trapped by debt from university loans/mortgage and chained by social/family expectations.
I went against the grain in every way possible. I don't believe in staying where you are because of fear of losing out or fear of the unknown. I believe that when we step out of our comfort zone and challenge ourselves that amazing things happen and we learn much more about ourselves. We saved some cash and are currently spending my maternity leave in Costa Rica. Instead of staying in cold London, we have chosen to take care of our daughter together surrounded by nature instead of concrete.
My family thought I was crazy to come here with a newborn but that is their fear not mine. I choose a life of adventure, love and faith. What do you choose for yourself?
wow, that really resonates with me ;) keep enjoying the beautiful costa rican nature :)
