Kings’ tombs in Choson dynasty was so simple due to the influence from Confucian philosophy.
The governing idea was Confucianism in Choson kingdom.
So the ruling class had to keep the simple way of living according to Confucianism.
Unlike the western civilization, the ruling class in Choson dynasty was not warriors but scholars.
So the stone sculptures of the king’s tomb was also simple. The sculptures were not lucrative to compare with other graves of the ruling classes.
Even the tombs were stationed on the high hill, but the ornaments were not special.
It took a high position in altitude, but the decorations and the ornaments were simple.
It was regrettable that it was banned to get closer to the tombs.
So I could take the photos of the stone sculptures from far away.
The ruling class not being warriors but scholars are very strange, considering the fact that warriors and warlords made great kings or commanders but maybe it's because of the the Confucian philosophy, amazing images of the tombs

While yeah a closer look would sure have been great to look into. While in the 2nd image it seems like we are getting a glimpse of the statue I believe . Nice shots for an understanding : )

@slowwalker, You explained better why Choson dynasty was simple. Confucian philosophy they followed and then king’s tomb was also simple. Seemed ornaments also made very simply. The King's tomb place highest of the mountain. We have missed big opportunity to see very close looks of King's tomb coz banned to take captures. But your effort great. You got massive effort for show something to steemit.

Great effort
You can get clear photos from a distance that have a good effort in giving information to the steemian. Although not as detailed as the photos of temple ornaments in your other posts, I can still see clearly that the carvings on the sculptures and others look simple. This is in line with the understanding of Confucius who views the reciprocal relationship between nature and humans can walk very simply, give and do not hurt. this simplicity also guides people to live in harmony with nature

The place where the sculptures situated look really beautiful under pine trees and the dry grass makes it look like sand. Sometimes simple things telling much too., I believe we will see us and our simple life as a majority of population, not to spend much time for materiel things but for spiritual. Although nowadays it is difficult to convinced some people.
