 I am most certain the majority of the population may not be as winter crazy as I am, but that doesn’t mean the whole family needs to suffer from frosted over cabin fever. I love winter. Waking up to the sparkle of diamond dusted blankets of snow covering bare trees and peaked mountain tops. Bundling up with hats, sweaters, boots, and scarves. Drinking hot chocolate next to a cozy crackling fire. The joyous sounds of holiday festivals and markets. Winter is my favorite time of year and maybe, just possibly, with the help of these epic family fun winter activities and destinations, it can be yours too. These are just five of the most famous winter destinations located throughout the continental US. They have activities from spas and retreats to dog sledding and skiing. Whether you want to cuddle up with a novel after a swedish hot stone massage or you want to take on the adventure of some of the worlds most famous snow packed slopes these destinations have something for everyone.

Park City, UT – Beautiful Park City is located just east of Salt Lake City, Utah, nestled deep into the Wasatch Mountain Range. Park city is famous for its luxurious winter resorts, epic skiing and snowboarding trails, boutique shopping, and the world renowned independent film festival, Sundance. Once a small mining town during the 19th-century silver boom, these days charming and historic Park City is known for hosting the 2002 Olympic games. Utah’s Olympic Park is still a promodent training facility for up and coming olympians.

Vail, CO – Vail Colorado is set within the mind blowing White River National Forest. The city of Vail rests at the base of Vail Mountain where you can find the infamous Vail Ski Resort.
