As a big fan of single travel, most of the time I have traveled alone. Surprisingly, a trip to Spain was the first time to being with someone else in my journey. I have been there with my dear colleagues for 2 weeks. And then, I realised that traveling a place with good friends is always pleasant and it enables me to think about places, foods, cultures from a different point of view. During our journey, literally, we were getting in Spain more and more. We enjoyed a lot of things in there (thanks to few Spanish guys we met at the time).
On the first day,
we arrived in Barcelona late at night, so we had no choice but to cook for our dinner. I can’t remember that wine the host of Airbnb gave us… it was really good!
Morning Barcelona!
The picture was taken from our accommodation.
Here was so peaceful and I was impressed to see the green playground and teenagers playing soccer.
Before I visited here, I watched once a TV show of Korea about four old grandpapas’ trip to Spain. What I felt interesting was, firstly, their style of architecture like shape of building and windows… maybe… is this because Barcelona is Gaudi’s city? :D
As you already caught, every window has slightly different shapes. Interesting, isn’t it?
Sagrada Família
You can get to famous landmarks by walk (usually!). After 10-15 mins walk, we reached Sagrada Familia cathedral, the most famous symbol in Barcelona.
According to Wiki, Gaudi took over the construction project of this church in 1883. Although its construction began a long long time ago, it was still undergoing (as the building is relied on private donations and got damages from civil wars).
Every door, column, and almost every area has its own symbolic significance, I guess.
When you enter into the inside, you would feel like you are in a stone forest of palm trees, just like my Japanese friend said. But for me, somehow I feel it looks like human bones lol..
“The Sagrada Família grows slowly, but this has always been the case with everything destined to have a long life." - Antoni Gaudi
I hope I will visit here again to see completed HIS work :D
Wow! Great pics.
Barcelona's buildings are different. Lovely architectural designs.
Love this:
Definitely looked like human bones to me too! Ha!
