For that reason i have a chance to travel.
Awhile ago i had my church visitation. I went to Oslob south Cebu in Philippines.

Oslob is a 4th municipal income class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines.
Oslob was established as a visita of Boljoon in 1690 and became an independent parish in 1848 with the Immaculate Conception as its patroness.

The Baluarte (Spanish for watchtower) of Oslob was built in 1788. Its main purpose was to provide a safe place wherein guards could observe the surrounding area. It was a part of the defense system in dispelling the Moro raiders of the past, which included 6 other watchtowers along the coastline of Oslob

Baluarte, Lantawan or watchtower - made up of coral stones and built along the coastline of Oslob. Constructed in 1788, by Father Bermejo a Spaniards Priest as defense for the enemy.

Who is Fr.Fray Julian Bermejo, OSA “El Padre Capitan”of Boljoon and Oslob

In surveying the Augustinian contributions in Cebu and in the Philippines, we cannot forget the tireless efforts of Fray Julian Bermejo, OSA in the town of Boljoon and its neighboring settlements. He was hailed by the old natives as “El Padre Capitan”. However, more than being el capitan de los baluartes de Boljoon and a spiritual leader, he was also a great social trailblazer and a literary man.

Fray Julian Bermejo came to the Philippines in November 1896. In the Catalogo of Fr. Elviro Perez, OSA, however, his name is included as one of those friars who arrived during the wave of 69th Mission in 1797. He was a native of Pardillo, Ciudad Real, Spain and was born in 1777. At a young age of 20, Fray Bermejo braved the Philippine mission shortly after his religious profession as an Augustinian in July 25, 1793 at the Colegio de Valladolid.
