What An Awesome Joy Ride Turn Out Discovering Tubajon Marine Park and Fish Sanctuary!!!

Moving here in Cagayan de Oro Philippines was not that easy. I had been living in Cebu for twenty five years and the last three years of that was struggling and sacrificing living alone in my two bedroom pad while studying in one of the prestigious University in Cebu. I don’t care how people judge me because they don’t know what I have been through.

Anyway, I am just sharing my partner‘s retirement benefits so expect wherever he will go I am always his shadow. I’m glad I had steemit which really aid my baggage in life.That is why most of my posts are about dining out and travel. In my first few months here we were traveling a lot because he wants me to explore and be familiar with nearby town and barangay. Even though he was staying here for more than two years still he will rely to Mr. Google while driving. One of the trips was to TubaJon Marine Park and Fish Sanctuary. Actually we didn’t have an idea that we would wind up in that place. We just decided to have a joyride to Laguidingan. We took the road along the beach and ask some locals where the road connected if we can be out of the main road. So my partner just kepy on going until we reached this place. Well, I have been to many beaches in Cebu but this one is something different to me. The water is just shallow and it’s all covered with mangrove trees. We found it by mistake when my partner @ivantorres turn a small junction. We paid twenty pesos at the entrance. By the way guys, at their entrance is also a little eatery where you can get short order depending on the menu available. But since we were already full we did not bother to ask what food was available.

Looking on the white sandy shore will make you more excited and curious what it looks like inside and under the mangrove trees. There is a bamboo trail which takes you to the cottages built under the mangrove trunks and roots.

You will love it while doing your trek. You will enjoy watching small fish under the roots. In between those mangroves is the swimming area. It is located in the middle of those mangrove trees. Cottages are built on the side of the swimming area. You just have to step down the bamboo stairs from the cottage going to dip down into the water. During our stop the place was crowded and all cottages are occupied so we just walked around and enjoyed the beauty of nature.

Just to set your expectation guys the water is not that crystal clear. It will get dark especially when it is lowtide. The bottom of the beach is muddy. All cottages are made up of nipa hut and bamboo so it’s really cool. Family’s who plan to bring children should keep an eye of them. Their cottage rent ranges from 300-500 pesos. Most of the guest there brought their own food.

My partner just enjoyed his trek and checking each bamboo and how they attached it connecting until the entire place.

We were so happy we found that awesome view of nature. We will not always experience such view in our everyday life. For me each place we visited is a treasure to keep for a lifetime. Experiencing an event like this made us more to get to know each other, like and dislike. Now, we both know that we had a lot of things in common when it comes to outdoor activities and exploring other places.
