One of the best things about Munich is the Isar River, that flows right through the center of the city.

I often take a walk from Frauenhofferstrasse to the Zoo at Tierparkstrasse.

There are plenty of things to see, including St.Maximillian church, the Deutsche Museum, and the Brudermuller powerstation (as well as a nudist beach when it is warm enough).

The water is cool and shallow, and in summer it is the perfect place to sunbathe, drink a beer, or even have a bbq.

There are many bridges that pass over the Isar, so it is easy to cross at any stage from one side to the other.

In places you forget you are in the middle of a large city, as the river looks wild and natural.
