Travel Dairies

This trip to the Mediterranean made my husband and me popular in our social circle as ‘The traveling couple’. Needless to say we loved the description. My husband - Rohan is born for traveling, he loves to explore various destinations and for me I love to see and understand various cultures and we both love to try different cuisines.

The place we visited was Zakynthos - perfect for a honeymoon. Gosh! I missed out on that!

As we landed in Zakynthos, Rohan’s friend came to the airport to pick us up. She owned a resort and had given us a fabulous discount (lucky us). We reached the resort by 9pm and it had got dark. She told us whatever we could see black from our balcony wouldturn blue in the morning. Her promise was delivered.

We explored the resort and treated our eyes. It was a fairyland.

We explored the island of Zakynthos by car- it was a paradise.

At the turtle island we saw the view of the blue water and sky coming together beautifully. The water was so clear that it looked like the boats were kept above the water.

We rented a boat; it was our first experience to ride a boat by ourselves.

Later, we went to blue caves, which added to another unique experience we had in Zakynthos. The boats had a glass floor that enabled us to see the corals in the sea. The weather that day had made the sea waves aggressive, which made our boat ride adventurous. The waves were lifting our boat up and then throwing it down, nevertheless we thoroughlyenjoyed it.

In the evening, our friend suggested us to go to Bochali, the hill of Bochali gives a beautiful view of the town centre. It is a cute place with small shops andromantic restaurants. We tasted our first ever crepe and it was delicious – chocolate strawberry flavor.

The last day we went to Shipwreck beach. That place was something else –soothing shade of blue. We went there with a group of people in a boat. Some of them were jumping from the boat to take a dip in unbelievably clear water. The guide told us the history of the place and showed the wrecked-ship on the beach.

Next day, with a heavy heart we had to say goodbye to the beautiful island with the promise of coming back again.
