Dumaguete - Everyone is actually really friendly here unlike the CIty

Here is another travel log that I want to share with you guys. From the picture above I start this adventure in Manila Once again. The easiest way to get there is by plane because if you take the bus it will take you two full days to get there. So from Manila I took Cebu Pacific, 1 hour 20 minutes travel, which will take you to Sibulan Airport. Once you arrive at the airport you can use what the local call TRICYCYLE and they will take you to Dumaguete and any hotel in that area. Please take note there is no taxi's once you land so make sure you pack light. The picture below is what a TRICYCLE looks like so when you land you are not lost in translation. Please also make sure you are traveling light. They can take alot of weight but the more weight the more slower your travel will be.

So once I arrived in Rizal Boulevard we noticed that I was not the only foreigner here. I was surprised there was more foreigners here than I imagined. I found out that the reason why there is so many foreigners is due to a town nearby called Valencia. So I guess the foreigners married the local women and chose to stay in Valencia.

So here is Rizal Boulevard in all of its glory:

So just some history about the place, the reason why its called Rizal Boulevard is because the locals believe the national hero used to walk there during his time around early 19th or 18th Century. The national hero of the Philippines is Jose Rizal. You can look him up on google for more facts.

Most of your time will be spent in Rizal Boulevard, if you are hungry there is tons of food because this street has a lot of food to sell. Also this food is cheap and you will enjoy the taste of local food.

However there is one food you might want check out which is called Kasava Cracker, this sucker is pretty huge for only 20 PHP, super mega cheap.

While you are eating you can enjoy two things and I say this faceetiously, Rocks with Grass or a nice sunset:

While in the city I did some site seeing and found this nice attraction:

This is called Companario de Dumeguete, so it was built upon one of the 4 original massive watch towers that parish priest Don Jose Manuel Fernandez de Septien built in 1760's to discourage Moros from pillaging the towns. So the two layers are known as the bell tower. So in essence this is like a guard tower during those days. So Companario means Bell Tower.

So now we move onto some other fun places. I went to this place called "Tejero Highland and Park Adventure".
If you don't like the beaches you can go to this fun resort. I found out that the water comes from a River that is next to the resort. At night it sounds like rain but its really the river nearby.

In Regards to beaches, you won't find the nicest beaches unless you paid for a Beach Side Hotel View, but there is a public beach you can go to which is called SILIMAN MARINE BEACH. Not the greatest but hey, its free.

To End this Journey before heading back to Manila, i thought they wouldn't sell it here but they did, its deep fried Ice Cream!!!

Anyway that end this travel log. Hope you guys find some time to actually check this place out. People are extremely nice. You won't feel out of place due to the locals being around foreigners so much. Plus its worth the time and effort to get out of Manila. Hope you enjoyed this fun little travel log.
