Took this photo in Galle in southern Sri Lanka. Galle is an old VOC (Dutch East India Company) town. In the 17th and 18th century it was the most important harbour town in Sri Lanka. Here you will find a lot of things in and around the city from when the Dutch rule. One of these things is an old fort which nowadays still serves its purpose. In the 2004 Tsunami it protected a big part of the city by slowing down a significant part of the wave(s).
