The Amazing Benefits of the Water in Loutraki, Greece

in travel •  7 years ago

While in Canada, @onceuponatime spoke of how wonderful the Loutraki healing thermal waters were. I can not begin to tell you how wonderful they are. I can only hope that my photos can show you.

LOOK at those incredible large Roman spouts! We all know that when we get into a jet tub, you can never get the jets on the shoulders which are always the most tense...at least on me. At the thermal spa, you can relax and let the water work it's magic on your shoulders!

Shown is the main pool that has a temperature of 30.5 - 32 C.

There are several pools at the thermal spa. This one is the hottest pool with a wonderful temperature of 34 C

The COLD pool that is chilled to 17 C. I was not brave enough to emerge in this pool!

AND the beautiful outdoor pool that is not heated other than by the sun.

You can NOT simply walk in off the street and be let into the thermal spa.
FIRST you must go see the doctor on duty. The doctor will take your blood pressure and ask you your medical history. If you have high blood pressure or have been subjected to chemo/radiation you can not go in.
As well, shown is my wristband showing when I have to get out of the pools. They only allow you to be in once a day and for only 30 mins each time. The other key is for my locker.

Shown here is one of the sources of Loutraki's thermal spring water (Loutra = Baths, ki = small town...Loutraki)
@onceuponatime and I drank the natural water at it source which shocked me...it was 30.5 - 32C!!!
To me, the taste was alkaline (smooth) and very minerally. The true composite is Potassium, Sodium, Ammonium, Magnesium, Chloride, Sulphate, and Bicarbonate ions.

In Loutraki, EVERYONE drinks the water straight from the tap as it is VERY healthy.

The circular construction of this building was completed in 1932.

These are all my own photos

I hope you enjoyed my post because I enjoyed it SO much that I went BACK to the Loutraki Thermal Springs the NEXT day!!

Oh it looks soooo good... Hope to take my family there someday...

These places look so beautiful.
The pool is so good looking.
Lovely place.

This is really beautiful I was heared of this somewhere.
Hope you really enjoyed your self very much ma'am.
I love pools.

It certainly looks like you're having a good time! Roman spouts, eh? The architecture in the last photos is really cool, too.

There is an actual Roman bath near where I lived in Spain, but I never got to go. It was, literally, a shallow cave with a pool and midpoint arch at the entrance. It's probably a little chilly, though!

Ha! It does look like you could just walk into the pool off the streets. It would be a little odd living in one of those rooms above the pool, but I suppose you would get used to it pretty quickly.

Wow this is splendid..You are splendour and i hope you maximize it.
I would love to visit one of this king of places.Itz royalty

I have been there!!! Wonderful experience and a lot of memories!!!

I like those swimming pools in the health resorts, relaxation and the flow of water on the shoulders of the appropriate temperature, which leads to the revitalization of the body muscles ، good luck my dear friend @steem-samiam 👍👍👍
